Face masks are a great way to rejuvenate your skin and feel fresh and clean! Browse through a few of my favorites, and some I want to try!
It’s my 25th blog!
I know that may not seem like a huge accomplishment, but I’ve been writing blogs for about 2 months now, so I’m proud of my achievement! I knew this day was coming, and I made a mental note that I wanted to do something special for it. So, I’m going to write on a topic that I haven’t before - beauty tricks!
In today's post, I’m going to focus on face masks. Lately, my face is breaking out more than usual and feeling a little bit dry. I’m not sure whether it’s the weather or if it’s because I’m a tiny bit more stressed than usual. Who knows! But what I do know is that I’m in need of a good at-home face mask! I’ve included some of my tried-and-true favorites, some I’d like to try, and a homemade natural face mask!
Before you apply a face mask, you need to have nice and clean skin. Here’s how I like to clean my skin:
- Wash your face with your favorite face wash. I currently use Neutrogena® Fresh Foaming Cleanser.
- While washing, softly exfoliate with a Clarisonic brush.
- Pat dry!
After you’ve washed your face, you can go ahead and put on your favorite face mask. I’ve included 2 of my favorites, 2 I want to try, and 1 homemade one!
This face mask is one I recently tried and instantly I was addicted. It’s called Sephora Pearl Face Mask. This mask is super cheap - only $6 - and makes my skin feel brighter and fresher. It comes already made and smells heavenly. To apply this peel-off face mask, just drape it on your face and chill for about 15-20 minutes. You’ll feel your face tingle a little bit, but it isn’t anything that hurts. Once your time is up, remove the mask, and you’ll instantly see some amazing results.
When I tried this hydrating face mask, I applied it after taking a shower after a super long day, and when I peeled it off, my face was glowing! I couldn’t stop looking at how clean my face looked; plus, it’s a super easy face mask to apply! I love love love this face mask! It’s my go-to for when I just want to feel rejuvenated and clean.
THIS NEXT MASK IS SO ADDICTING!!! It’s called GlamGlow®, and it’s probably the best face mask I’ve ever used. During my freshman year of college, I was browsing Pinterest and came across this face mask and a picture of what this mask looks like as it is deep cleaning your face. I’ll be honest, it isn't a pretty picture. As it works its magic, it changes from being this light gray easy-to-apply mud mask to this dried dark gray mask.
What I really love about this mask is that it highlights every single blackhead you have. You can literally see all the blackheads on your face (for me, my nose is where all my blackheads are). This face mask is what I use when I want to severely clean my face and get rid of those pesky blackheads. It’s the perfect face mask for acne, too. Your face will shine when you wash this mask off, and you won’t be able to see any of your old blackheads anymore. It’s so awesome!
When I first got this little pot of amazingness, I applied it on my own face. I was so amazed by how great this cleansing face mask works that I applied it on everyone I knew - my boyfriend, friends, boyfriend’s roommate, etc. This face mask lives up to its reviews; it’s incredible.
This next mask is by Farmacy, and it’s called Honey Potion. This is the first face mask that is on my want to try list. Its ingredients include honey, propolis, and amino acids. It’s supposed to renew your skin and hydrate it. Massage this moisturizing face mask into your face for 1-2 minutes until it transforms into a white cream, and then leave it on for about 15 minutes before rinsing. I want to try this mask because I’m a huge believer in all the amazing benefits of honey. I put honey in anything and everything - tea, water, hair treatments, etc. Honey is a miracle worker, and I don’t know why I haven’t tried a face mask that uses it yet. That’s why I put this on my list!
I chose this next product because it was Allure’s 2014 Best of Beauty Award Winner. This skin mask is by First Aid Beauty and is called Skin Rescue Purifying Mask with Red Clay. My everyday face lotion is by First Aid Beauty, so I can personally attest to this awesome brand. My mom also uses a few of their products. This is a clay face mask that you leave on for 20 minutes. This mask is supposed to detoxify, purify, and clean out skin impurities. It doesn’t contain any parabens, sulfates, or phthalates - yay! This may give my GlamGlow® mask a run for its money!

Now, I wanted to include a homemade face mask recipe because they’re convenient, and a lot of people swear by homemade products (and I believe it)! I chose this face mask because it is supposed to put life into a dull and tired complexion (aka me). Also, I love how coffee beans smell, so that’s another reason why I chose it. This facial recipe is supposed to be quick to make and effective. It’ll leave you feeling rejuvenated and illuminated! This is the beauty mask for college students and busy people in general.
Which products can’t you wait to try? Do you have any personal favorite face masks or homemade/organic face mask recipes? Let me know! I love hearing about new face products and face masks! As always, share this post with your friends!
