Nooks are perfect for a cozy morning breakfast or an afternoon spent curled up with a great book. These amazing home nook ideas are totally covetable.

Hey, friends! You know what I’ve been digging lately? Nooks. No, not the tablet kind, but the quaint, cute small nooks you can find in many homes! You ask, “Why the sudden interest in nooks, Alexa?” Well, let me tell ya! As some of you may know, I recently moved into a new house and I love it! I love decorating new places and making them feel like “home.”

Just to give some background on my new house, we have an open concept floor plan from the living room to kitchen. I love it; however, there is one corner in between the two rooms that is just kind of awkward. What was my simple solution? Make a nook space out of it! I decided to make a little sitting area for two and used the nook area to display some artwork my roommates and I made. The result? Instant quaint, cozy, and uber-chic home decor! So, to say the least, I am a huge fan of home nook ideas! So, I thought I’d share some of my favorite nooks with you all!

Breakfast Nook

Breakfast is my favorite meal. I could literally eat it all day! That's why I have a special place in my heart for breakfast nook decor. Not only are breakfast nooks cute, but they’re perfect for those early mornings when you get up to enjoy your favorite cup of coffee and a bagel. Sounds like bliss, right? Well, they are!

Now imagine doing all that in the nook above. As soon as I saw this nook, I fell in love with it. I think I was drawn in by the vibrant blue colors contrasting with the crisp clean whites. Whatever the reason may be, I just have to say, this girl loves the color pops in this space. Plus, this nook looks so bright and airy. I love how there's a window by those comfy looking bench seats. Oh man! And those hydrangeas! This nook is like the eating nook of my dreams. Can you imagine watching the sunrise while sipping coffee here? Oh, that would be dreamy!

There are two things that I really love about the nook above. First, the fact that there is a chalkboard that you can gussy up right next to it. Second, the fact that the chalkboard wall by this breakfast area is actually a furnace. Talk about a suh-weet set up! If I was into making homemade bread (which I’ve never attempted), I feel like I’d want to make some kind of cool French bread in that baby. Or maybe I’d make some tasty homemade pizza. Okay, definitely pizza. You can totally have pizza for breakfast. Hmm, there are so many options with a cool at home furnace!

I seriously love breakfast nooks by bright, open windows. In my future home, I definitely plan to have some kind of dining nook with spacious, bright windows like this one. There’s something about the bright, natural lighting that makes me all sorts of happy. Also, that table is absolutely stunning! I love it bunches. That’s definitely going on my list of things I want for my future home too!

Reading Nook

I really enjoy reading but, in all honesty, I don’t get the chance to read as much as I used to. I dream of having carefree afternoons where I can sit down with a cup of tea and some kind of healthy dessert and read in a cozy reading nook of some sort. I’m guessing some of you readers out there dream of doing that too!

What I love about this window nook is that it is small and quaint. There’s not a lot going on other than having a comfortable place to sit with some books carefully stored yet still handy and a few simple home decor accessories. This nook is simple but sometimes less really is more. I think my favorite part of this entire space is the white lantern. I’m a fan of lanterns, so using a lantern to light up this little space is absolutely adorable to me.

If you’re the type who is more “Go big or go home” when it comes to your home decor style and you love vibrant colors, then maybe this nook idea is the one for you! This is especially perfect if you have kids. They’ll really enjoy the vibrant colors and probably love the fact that there are tons of pillows to sit on (or have pillow fights with). I love the bold ‘read’ typography letters in red. And, oh hey there, would you look at that! This space has lanterns in it too! How perfect!

I really like this last reading nook for a number of reasons. For starters, take a gander at that awesome color scheme. It’s crisp, vibrant, and super classy. I love the clean, monochromatic look with pops of yellow! Additionally, the throw pillows are total luxe! And goodness! Don’t get me started on those stunning built-in shelves. Did you happen to notice that there are curtains to cover this reading nook when you want privacy? I think that’s a brilliant idea! Don’t you?
