Pantone never fails! Yet again, they give us their wonderful Pantone Color of the Year and let me tell ya, this year’s color(s) are perfection!
Hello, friends! Let me just tell ya that today is my last day before I go on vacation for a bit and I am seriously so stoked! My motto: Work hard. Rest. Repeat. As good as it is to work hard, it’s always important to rest just as hard as well. Anyways, before I go on vacay, I have to tell you about Pantone’s Color of the Year 2016 Color Report! This year, Pantone released their new color of the year and rather than just picking one, they chose two: Rose Quartz and Serenity. I just have to say that these two colors together are beautiful! Just looking at them gives me a deep sense of ‘serenity’ and peace. In the world of fashion, I think these colors come together gracefully. They definitely have a feminine feel to them, but the dusky pantone blue shade, Serenity, provides a sense of masculinity that balances the light pinkish tones of Rose Quartz out.
Take this Harper’s Bazaar cover featuring Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, for example! On the cover, Rosie’s wearing a gorgeous Serenity colored gown that pops beautifully against the Rose Quartz background. The color scheme is definitely on-point with Pantone’s colors of the year. Our verdict for these two colors: they’re gorgeous and definitely fashion-forward!

Now what’s the reasoning behind our verdict? For starters, when it comes to the world of fashion and beauty, it’s a no brainer that both Rose Quartz and Serenity are super popular. As proof, let me just tell you that since I’ve gotten engaged, I’ve been looking at color schemes and bridesmaids’ dresses like no tomorrow and guess what the most popular bridesmaid dress colors are? If you guessed blush and dusk blue, you guessed right! Blush (aka Rose Quartz) and dusk blue (aka Serenity) have been very popular over the years, so it’s no surprise that Pantone chose them for the colors of the year for 2016! Plus, these two colors transcend beautifully into the world of makeup, from blush, to eyeliners, lipsticks, glosses, and even nail polishes.
According to Pantone, Rose Quartz is “a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding flower, Rose Quartz reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the busy but lighthearted spring and summer months.” We couldn’t agree more Pantone! We adore this stunning Pantone pink color, too. Let’s check out two examples of Rose Quartz in fashion!
For starters, this outfit is a winner winner chicken dinner! Seriously, who wouldn’t love wearing this gorgeous dress? I can definitely see myself wearing this if I were traveling across Europe or even in downtown San Francisco while I window shopped at all the chic boutiques.

Moving on to this amazing dress, can I just say that this look definitely gives me a Taylor Swift-esque kind of feel. I feel like this could be a scene out of Love Story even though the dress Taylor wore in that music video was entirely different from this dress. Or maybe I’m thinking of the dress from Begin Again? Anyway, this pink Pantone dress is definitely romantic and looks like it belongs in a fairy tale. Gorgeous, right? Seriously, these Pantone shades are stunning.
Pantone says “Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, Serenity comforts with a calming effect, bringing a feeling of respite even in turbulent times. A transcendent Pantone blue, Serenity provides us with a naturally connected sense of space.” I’m a huge fan of Serenity because of how it pops against my skin color. I think it’s an elegant color and if you can rock it, go for it!

I. Love. This. Dress. The top is absolutely stunning, if I don’t say so myself. It has a very Grecian like appearance with all the draping and texture of the fabric. The color of this dress is what makes it so unique and stunning. Paired with silver jewelry, this is the perfect look to wear to a formal event or fancy dinner date (or as a member of a bridal party).
Last but not least, check out this gorgeous pale blue dress that’s fit for a princess. I’m not entirely positive, but I’m getting some kind of vibe that this is a wedding dress of some sort because I don’t know why else this model would be holding a bouquet (a Rose Quartz colored one to be exact!). I’m not sure about a Serenity colored wedding gown, but it’s definitely a thought for my bridesmaids. We’ll see!
That’s all for today, folks! I hope you enjoyed. Let us know in the comments below what you thought about these colors. Make sure to share this post with loved ones as well. Thanks for reading! ‘Til next time!
