Updo hairstyles are a must for formal events! You’ll look more chic than you’ve ever looked with this fabulous formal and casual updo hairstyle inspiration.
Hello, friends! How’s it going? I hope you all have been well. I’ve been rather busy with school, work, and wedding planning, but that’s nothing new. Generally, life tends to be busy for me but that’s all part of the kind of lifestyle I live, I guess. I think it’s important to work hard and, of course, take a well-deserved break once in a while.
I’ve noticed that during my break periods, I’ve been doing a lot of wedding planning. As stressful as wedding planning can be, it’s honestly been super fun. Doing DIYs and figuring out different decorations on a budget is something I totally love. I’m nearly done planning all the decorations for my wedding and now I’ve been working on the details like hair and makeup.
I have a few ideas of what I may do and I’m honestly leaning more towards a hair updo. For that reason, I was really inspired to show you some gorgeous updo hairstyles that I’ve seen all over the internet and Pinterest. What’s great about updos is that, depending on the style, you can wear them to dates, formal events, and wherever your heart fancies, really.
Let’s explore some updo hairstyles, shall we?
1. Updo That You Can Say, “I do!” In
The reason I think this updo is so perfect for a wedding is because of how romantic it looks. Seriously, this is the kind of romantic wedding updo that you wear when you’re getting ready for the big day while playing some T-swizzle and singing every lyric of “Love Story.” When I see this hair, I think of curly haired princesses riding across a field on their white horses. Also, just to let y’all know, this is not how I’m doing my hair on my wedding day if you were wondering! That, my friends, is a secret!
2. Everyday Chic Updo Hair
I like to call this hair the donut bun because it sort of looks like that! This hairstyle has been in lately and I think it looks ultra-chic and clean. Whenever I do this particular updo hairstyle, I like to pull out a few loose pieces of hair to frame my face. What’s great about this hairstyle is that it’s quick and easy to do! Plus, it looks super chic and pulls all of your hair out of your face and off of your neck.
3. Best Bohemian Braided Updo Ever
This hairstyle updo is absolutely stunning. Currently, I have a huge thing for bohemian fashion and hair. I love flower crowns, loose clothes, fun prints, and messy but chic hairstyles. I think I’m into this style lately because bohemian wear isn’t what I traditionally go for whenever I get dressed or get ready for a fancy event. This updo is perfect for the whimsical boho chic women out there!

4. Vintage Updo
I love this hairstyle for a lot of reasons. My first and primary reason is that it is classic. Like literally, this is the epitome of 50s pin-up hairstyle and well… I love it! I’d imagine donning this kind of updo for a New Year's Eve event or even a themed brunch. It’s not all too often that people wear 50s updos unless they totally own the style or they’re going to a formal event. If I had a carpet event to attend (in my dreams), I would totally rock this elegant updo!
5. Classic Braided Updo
This updo is sometimes referred to as the milkmaid braid. I love the simplicity of it. I have a friend who is the creative manager of a boutique and she always rocks this kind of updo. In fact, whenever I see it, I honestly think of her. This updo can be dressed up or dressed down. Plus, whenever you release your hair from all the braids, you’ll have flowing beach-y waves! How chic!
6. Eclectic Braided 'Do
Now this updo is definitely only for the bold fashionistas out there! If you’re the kind of girl who just needs to accessorize, then try this fun, eclectic idea! Plus, with braids, you don’t necessarily need to stick just ribbon and feathers in it. You can also put fresh flowers and other hair accessories into your hair.
Well, there you go, friends. I hoped you liked this blog post! If you did, please let us know in the comments below. Don’t hesitate to share this post with your friends and family as well. Thank you for reading! ‘Til next time!
